Here we are, talking about tearjerker melodrama. Truthfully, I wanna make Taiwanese melodrama but they have little list so I end up put Taiwanese and Chinese drama in one list. Alright, let’s start.
- Roseate-Love (2009)
The drama originally named 紫玫瑰 or Zi Mei Gu means purple Love. It is about a cheerful girl who innocently named Wang Xiao Zi (Rachel Liang) that focus to achieve her goals as a famous singer after her boyfriend dead. On the way to achieve her dream, Xiao Zi met with a man Ning Zi Da (Tender Huang) who had a heart like a metal wall. This drama has 13 episodes.
- I Do? (2008)
The drama tells the story of the ups and downs of a young couple’s relationship Xia Yi Xin / Summer (Annie Liu) and Hao Li Zhe (Blue Lan) who divorce because they feel they didn’t fit together. However, once they actually get divorced, they feel very sad. Their life was bland, so after a couple of years later, they decided to start over their relationship. This drama has 20 episodes. So, how is the ending? Whether, they could go back or not? Because their former co-interfering!
- Starlit (2009)
The perfect couple from music industry, Cheng Yue (Yen Jerry) is a pianist and Rui Shan (Tseng Alice) is a cellist must face their fate to spilt because Cheng Yue get an accident and breaks his arm while tried to save a girl. He devastated because he can no longer play the piano, so he gave up on music and chose to travel to get away. After two years pass, Cheng Yue decides to lives in Shanghai and meets Song Xiao Lu (Kwan Terri), the girl who he saved. They become colleagues and Cheng Yue fallen in love with Xiao Lu (a bit cliché), but he get reject by her? Why? I think she also like Cheng Yue. Isn’t it tragedy? Wow! Meanwhile, Rui Shan finally can track down Cheng Yue and she tries to get him to return back to music industry. So, what will Cheng Yue chose? Try to get Xiao Lu or go back become pianist?
- Le Jun Kai
It is a love tragedy between Le Jun Kai (Ho Peter) who marries Ye Zi (Chang Janine) to take revenge for his former love and unborn child. He has an emotional character and sometimes he is doing physical violence to his wife, but Ye Zi bares it without retaliation. When Le Jun Kai begins to realize have feelings for Ye Zi, he forced her to get a divorce and left her to fend for herself. She initially didn’t want to leave him but finally agreed when she discovers she is pregnant.
- The Cage of Love
The drama tells about Jiang Yu (Lau Hawick ) who is a ruthless business man that sets out to seek revenge on his enemy, via punishing his daughter Wu Cai Hong (Zheng Shuang), who is in love with her childhood sweetheart. This drama is set amongst the Republican era.
- Love Keeps Going (2011)
Mei Le (Wang Cyndi) is a girl who always doing her best at everything, being well behaved, caring, and obedient. She achieved a lot of certificates, everyone likes her and even her boss just admired her hard work. Actually, behind all of her best, she has painful childhood memory. When Zha Mei Le was just a little girl, she overheard her parents decided to get a divorce and deciding which child should stay with whom, both of them didn’t want Mei Le. So Mei Le decided to change that, because of her kindness and caring soul, her boyfriend and his family loved her, except his brother, Han Yi Lei (Mike He). The two of them disliked each other. But on the other hand, Mei Le was also trying really hard to fulfill her boyfriend’s dream of owning a bakery. But when she finds out her relationship with Yi Feng, isn’t as pure as she thought it was after discovering he cheated with a worker at their own bakery, she finds herself falling in love with his brother.
- My Splendid Life (2011)
My Splendid Life also known as Brilliant Legacy/Shining Inheritance/My Wonderful Life. This drama is a mixture of love romance, workplace inspirational, competition in family and other elements. It is like Cinderella story. It is about a young adult that do not have to worry about anything in life. After going through a financial crisis, her family business is bankrupt, her father passed away, what kind of attitude does she have to face in her drastic life? The Korea Drama remakes it with same title, Brilliant Legacy (Shining Inheritance). Oh, it has 38 episodes and stared by Yen Jerry and Chen Yedda.
- Mysterious Summer (2014)
Furukawa Yuki!! Yay!! He is part of main character, and also the narrator for this drama. So, this drama is telling us: “No one truly knows what mysteries lay in the hearts of strangers. If you could see through their eyes, what would you find? Worlds of ambition, betrayal, longing, suspicion, horror, love, and hate. Fifteen people residing in Beijing live out fifteen seemingly unique stories, but perhaps their lives are more connected than they seem.” Beside Yuki, the drama starred by Ye Zu Xin, Ma Sandra, and Eric Wang.
- Someone Like You (2015)
It has a story about a man, Fang Zhan Cheng (Kingone Wang) who loses everything in one day in a tragic car accident. He lost his fiancée, Liang Luo Han (Kirsten Ren) and he also lost his own eyesight. Devastated by the loss of his fiancée, Zhan Cheng is inconsolable and even refuses a corneal transplant that could restore his vision. But his life takes an unexpected turn when Wang Yu Xi (Kirsten Ren), who looks exactly like his fiancée, is hired to become Zhan Cheng’s day nurse. Another young woman, Xu Ya Ti (Nita Lei), receives Luo Han’s heart in a transplant and begins to exhibit many of Luo Han’s mannerisms and personality. Caught between a woman who looks exactly like his beloved dead fiancée and another woman who behaves just like her, what will Zhan Cheng do?
- Loving, Never Forgetting (2014)
It is another drama of Yan Jerry. This time, he rolled as Zhong Mou who had a one night stand with a girl, Wu Tong (Tong Li Ya) a few years ago. He forgot about her until later, in an accident which stirred his attention; after verification, it was confirmed that the little boy, Wu Tong Tong is indeed his son. In order to gain back his own son, Li Zhong Mou takes the Mother of his son, Wu Tong to court and win the custody of the boy. However, Zhong Mou has falling for Wu Tong and was impressed by Wu Tong’s intimate relationship with their son, due to his lack of maternal love as a child, he did not want history to repeat itself again. Therefore, Li Zhong Mou decided to marry Wu Tong. After experiencing life and death, resentment and prejudice, everyone eventually learn to understand, trust and love.
